The Hellenists split the veil to
expose the emptiness inside.
A great need of revival began.
In the shortest days of the season.
When the Maccabees reached the temple it was in shame.

They are deaf and dumb to entreaty.
The rotten smell from unclean sacrifices,

First cleanse our sanctuary, remove all the vain idolatry.
Sop up the unclean blood, offer the blood that’s holy.
Extinguish the strange fire, see the oil is sure.
We make ourselves ready so we shall be pure.
We must light the lamp, roll the Book through Daniel,
